How has neoliberalism weakened science?

The current Covid-19 pandemic, and before that, the environmental crisis due to climate change, raise major questions about relationship between science society. More than ever, public opinions in OCDE countries question legitimacy of scientists scientific knowledge. reasons for this fracture are obviously multiple complex, but we believe that applying neoliberalism principles research has contributed it. In article, show how funding by private institutions, staff precariousness, ‘publish or perish’ policy have changed way which knowledge is produced decreased confidence citizens regarding output. We it high time launch a wide debate on these issues within community. should take advantage both health crises put fundamental role society back table, so as social activity (production diffusion) taken into hands institutions where conflicts with interests limited.
